Shiv Sena reiterates demand for special status under 371 to J&K

To preserve the rights of son of the soil ,culture and identity of the state, Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit today asked the Union Government to restore special status and statehood to Jammu and Kashmir under Section 371 on the pattern of Northeast and other border states.

In this connection, dozens of Shiv Sainiks under the leadership of Manish Sahni, Party’s J&K President assembled near Party Office in Jammu and raised slogans in support of above demands. The Party activists displayed placards giving message of ‘Special Status Hamaara Adhikaar’, ‘Hamaaree Sanskriti Va Pehchaan Surakshit Karo’, ‘Bhoo-Putro Ke Adhikaaron Ka Hanan Bardaasht Nahin’, ‘Sthaaneey Ko Ho Sarkri Naukariyon Par Adhikaar’, ‘Rajya Darja Bahaal Karo’.

Talking to media persons, Sahni said that under a well planned strategy, there are conspiracies to effect the Dogra, Kashmiri, Gujjar, Pahari culture and identity of the state.

After the occupation of the resources , trade of Jammu and Kashmir and sons of land rights are being violated , the step-motherly treatment continues with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir is a sensitive border area of strategic importance so it should be given constitutional privileges under Article 371 on the lines of the northeastern border states of the country.

Sahni said Article 371 contains special provisions for 11 other states, most of them northeastern and bordering states. Actually, the borders’ states and the areas along the International Border are sensitive. For this reason, there is a provision under the Constitution to provide special status to such areas.

Sahni warned the central government not to play with the sentiments of people of Jammu region failing which the whole Jammu regions comprising of Dogra, Kashmiri, Gujjar, Pahari communities will come on roads and launch the masses agitation to protect their constitutional rights.
